El pedalista bogotano Alejandro Callejas (Roojai Insurance Winspace) se reportó 2° en la segunda etapa del Tour de Salalah, carrera omaní del calendario UCI. La jornada, que contó con un recorrido de 108 kilómetros entre Dahariz Beach y Wadi Darbat, incluyó un puerto montañoso en la parte final.
La victoria quedó en manos del suizo radicado en Colombia, Simon Pellaud (Li Ning Star), quien fue el más fuerte en los metros finales y terminó ganándole al colombiano. Tercero se clasificó el francés Antoine Huby (7Eleven Cliqq Roadbike Philippines).
En cuantos a los otros dos suramericanos en competencia, el argentino Eduardo Sepúlveda (Li Ning Star) ingresó a la meta en el 6° puesto y el brasilero Nicolás Sessler (Victoria Sports Pro Cycling Team) se reportó en la casilla 17° a más de un minuto del ganador.
Con relación a la clasificación general, el suizo Simon Pellaud (Li Ning Star) se apoderó del liderato, que estaba en poder del neerlandés Jeroen Meijers (Victoria Sports Pro Cycling), vencedor de la jornada inaugural. El colombiano Alejandro Callejas (Roojai Insurance Winspace) subió 13 posiciones y escaló hasta el 6° lugar.
La carrera asiática, catalogada por la UCI de categoría 2.2, continuará este martes con la tercera etapa, de las cuatro pactadas, una jornada montañosa de 156 kilómetros, que llevará a los pedalistas desde Castillo de Taqah hasta la reserva natural de Jabal Samhan, en un final en alto.
